At the exact moment when a white-faced little girl is crawling up the ceiling, you realize that the heroine in 'Help' needs rescuing. But unfortunately, it's the writers behind this tame horror film that need 'Help'. Movies about the supernatural require an enormous amount of imagination. Yet the makers of 'Help' exhaust all their creativity executing the slick special effects of this movie, leaving the script as dull as dishwater.I'm going with one-and-a-half out of five for director Rajeev Virani's 'Help'. It's far from frightening, and you're scowling just as hard as Bobby Deol when you leave the cinema.

Horror films produced in Bollywood follow the same route.HELP is no different. It follows the same rules, except that it has an interesting twist to offer, which, again, is sure to have its share of advocates and adversaries. Unfortunately, the screenplay, based on an interesting concept, gets repetitive at times and excruciatingly slow at places. Besides, the unspoken rule for horror films is that they ought to scare you at the right places, but barring a sequence or two, which do give you jhatkas, the film lacks in the scary quotient. Simply put, the chills are missing. On the whole, HELP is at best an ordinary attempt.Final word? Strictly okay!

Bobby Deol seems bored. Really bored. And you wouldn't blame him for it. For the poor soul is saddled with a sad script that has nothing exciting to offer in terms of characterisation and drama. All that it demands from him is to stand by and watch wife Mugdha Godse go into paroxysms or vacantly stare at nothing in particular, when the possession takes over. Does the horror angle work? Only intermittently, when you sit up and take note of the paranormal proceedings. For the rest of the film, you are mostly counting the minutes. Please, please, please, will someone give us the real scary movie in desi cinema. It's high time, no?
