Slapstick but never particularly smart, Tere Bin Laden is a low-IQ comedy that succeeds in making you laugh occasionally, despite its highly improbable premise.Unfortunately the film's script is over-simplistic in its portrayal of America's cluelessness and confusion over how to deal with the terror threat, and as a result the film's final act comes off as too contrived even for a comedy. But in the end the film is only moderately entertaining. I'm going with two-and-a-half out of five for first-time director Abhishek Sharma's Tere Bin Laden. The kind of film to watch on a day you have nothing better to do.

Imagine Osama becoming a business partner in a tacky salon. Smiling, are you? That, in a nutshell, is TERE BIN LADEN, a wicked comedy with an out-of-the-box concept that offers laughter unlimited. In fact, I don't think I've flexed my facial muscles in any other film in the recent past as much as I did while watching this satirical comedy. What gives TERE BIN LADEN an edge over other comedies is that it's not the slapstick humour that keeps you entertained. This one has a story to tell as well, which also delves deeply into the minds of today's youth. Final word? Grab a popcorn, sip your cola and get ready to laugh non-stop for the next two hours. You would love Osama Bin Laden, for a change!

Now this one's a real cornball. It maybe a shade amateur and have loads of rough edges to its canvas, if you compare it to a regular Bollywood comedy. But when it comes to content, the film scores above several of the recent laugh riots that may have done well at the box office, but definitely didn't have an intelligent script to boast of. Tere Bin Laden has both: a smart script and some smart acting. The actors are having a ball, that's evident. The scriptwriter (Abhishek Sharma) is just loving it: making digs on America's war against terror. And the viewers are in for some breezy fun. Savour the satire.

It’s impressive how an Indian director makes a film entirely set in Pakistan and takes several digs at Pakistan’s infrastructure and America’s intelligence in a smart and subtle manner. Writer-director Abhishek Sharma humorously pulls off every politically incorrect aspect that we unofficially know about the two nations through the comic genre of his film. Slapstick in some scenes, satirical in most and silly at times, Tere Bin Laden clicks primarily because above all its farce, it has an entertaining story to narrate. The writing is witty, funny, crisp and moves at a brisk pace so much so that one doesn’t look for too much of conviction in the bigger picture.
Tere Bin Laden is laden with some genuine laugh-out-loud moments. Entertaining, enjoyable and surely worth a watch!

The film is a farcical comedy and a genuinely good one at that. But having said that, it must also be added that farces don’t have much of a market in India. The film’s story and screenplay, both penned by debut-making writer-director Abhishek Sharma, are very entertaining and engrossing. Of course, the plot has been stretched too much, something which a section of the audience may enjoy but another set of audience will not take kindly to..On the whole,Tere Bin Laden is an entertaining comedy for the youth in the cities. It has the germs to click with the multiplex audience on the strength of positive word of mouth. However, its poor start will prove to be an impediment as the business, in most cases today, is mainly of the first weekend.

Debut director Abhishek Sharma‘s idea is original and audacious : full marks there. What could be funnier than the world’s most dreaded terrorist’s doppelganger being a bespectacled chicken farmer? Or an American wiseguy fooling fellow countrymen into believing that Bin Laden could have held out a conciliatory hand to them?But the film isn’t entirely the laugh riot that it sets out to be : the first half is slow and slack. Some of that’s got to do with the lead player’s inability to be nimble :Post interval, things liven up, and the last half hour is what the whole film should have been like : quick on its feet, and zingy.

This ingenious, mockumentary style script (Abhishek Sharma) stupendously lets itself go off in all directions on a wild flight of imagination. Only songs seem needlessly borrowed from that Kailash Kher number ‘Chak De Phatte’ (Khosla Ka Ghosla).That a film can so convincingly make light of an unbearable tragedy is its astounding comic achievement. What more low-down do you want: Just go ahead and load up on the guilt-free laughs!
