Still, Jannat 2 isn’t all bad; in fact there are portions that are eminently watchable. Hashmi and Hooda play off nicely against each other, and their scenes together are particularly strong, occasionally laced with humor. The film also has at least two thrilling foot chase scenes, including one in the first half between two sets of cops and criminals that’s almost comical. The second chase, filmed in the crowded lanes of a dargah has an urgent breathless feel to it.If the film suffers, it’s because the material’s too slim. There just isn’t very much here apart from the obvious shades of The Departed, and some over-familiar scenarios of inter-gang rivalry.I’m going with two-and-a-half out of five for director Kunal Deshmukh’s Jannat 2. It could’ve been better, but it’s not a terrible way to spend an evening out.Visit Site for more

JANNAT 2 is very desi at heart and strives to shed light on the illicit weapons trade in North India. JANNAT 2 is a compelling account of a conflicted man who ultimately faces the effects of his deeds. The movie advocates that firearms and cartridges are the actual perpetrators accountable for the fatalities and killings of blameless people. JANNAT 2 is ingeniously fashioned and skillfully filmed, while the characters are pertinent and compelling. On the whole, JANNAT 2 is an engaging film with tremendous appeal for the masses. An absorbing story, a swift and coherent narrative, exemplary direction, fantastic action, soothing music and stellar performances summarize the highlights of this triumphant franchise.Visit Site for more

Director Kunal Deshmukh shoots off gritty action and gushy romance, combined in unequal proportions. The chase sequences give you a shot of adrenaline and the action is high-tension. Although random romantic moments and too many songs break the pace of the story (Shagufta Rafique). The climax is touching, but for a thriller, there are several predictable turns, minus the twists. The dialogues are crude, but suit the rawness of the film, and the actors use cuss words as liberally as their guns. The music (Pritam) is memorable, but only till the next Bhatt album release.Jannat 2 is a decent crime caper, but doesn't shoot you between the eyes.Tip Off: If you don't have an appetite for crude desi gaalis, be armed before watching this one!Visit Site for more

A lot would have been forgiven -- as it often is with these producers -- if the film had either a meatier plot or a more gripping narrative, but this one's just tiresome as the obvious story drags on. A couple of chase sequences, particularly one through the arteries of a Dargah, are slickly shot, but even these lose their charm as they get needlessly long-winded. And finally, telling a bad actress she looks like Angelina Jolie is just cruel -- to both her and to the audience forced to sit there while she tries to smile coyly through a silly pout.Visit Site for more

Logic isn’t a priority here. Deshmukh is creating an old-school Bollywood film with high drama, punchy dialogue, thunderous background music and villains who glare and maim with aplomb. Some sequences are nicely done, including a chase sequence in a dargah. Emraan Hashmi and Randeep Hooda are also extremely watchable. But there are no surprises here and by the second half, Jannat 2 starts to feel like an endurance test with your head being bludgeoned by the violence and incessant Hindi swear words.Visit Site for more

Don’t be fooled. This is not a sequel to 'Jannat’, in which match-fixing shenanigans in high profile cricket matches gave Emran Hashmi and Kunal Deshmukh a fertile hunting ground, and us a watchable film. 'Jannat 2’ is, for the most part, a badly-done, badly-acted enterprise, lifted only a notch by a couple of performances.Visit Site for more

Jannat 2 follows the basic template of a small-time crook trying to reform himself when he falls in love. So the narrative primarily is a love story playing simultaneously alongside a crime-drama, both consequential of each other. But while the crime backdrop is reasonably riveting, the romance track is dull and deterrent to the drama. Only if the director could balance the two elements appropriately, Jannat 2 could have been a heavenly experience! Jannat 2 comes to life primarily for its two male leads who never overshadow the other and yet have compelling screen presence individually. Overlook a few of its sinful indulgences and Jannat 2 can turn out to be a hell of a ride!Visit Site for more

All through ‘Jannat 2’, it seems as if Nicolas Cage’s ‘Lord of War’ is present somewhere in the background. The film revolves around the hitherto unexplored-in-Bollywood territory of arms trafficking, and doesn’t qualify as anything but absolutely average.Watch ‘Jannat 2’ for its catchy numbers (better still, buy a CD!). The sequel of the 2008 film Jannat, the film is a predictable, yet partly gripping tale of a small-time brat who faces the results of his own deeds.Although the plot is calculable, the swift narrative manages to squeeze out humdrum portions. The movie had a prospect of being more engaging if the director would have invested some extra action sequences.Overall, the portrayal of this foreseeable plot is appealing in parts. Though the film belongs to the Jannat franchise, it is predictable, dull and extremely boring in the first half. While, the second part too creates no hope for an engrossing moment for the onlooker. Delhi has been used as a backdrop for the crime of arms trafficking and romance has been induced to make Jannat 2 a complete Masala flick, but the attempt is tasteless.Music is one of the reasons that might develop a curiosity for the film. A predictable and extremely tiresome attempt will be one reason to stop you from buying a ticket. Though the climax might spring a surprise, but by then it becomes too late for one to react for appreciation. For all those Emraan’s fans, who can endure anything to see him on-screen- this one's for you. But still we would say, beware. This Jannat is far away from fairytales!Visit Site for more
