Preity Zinta has already essayed the role of an unwed mother with great aplomb almost nine years ago in Kya Kehna. So was there really a need to revisit the role by Tara Sharma? There could have been, if the film maker had actually chosen to take the issue forward and talk about single motherhood as the new social norm. But there is a relentless search for the unborn kid's Appa through most of the film, with Tara wondering who will give her baby chocolates and toys. Only Appa's do that, huh?.So where's the problem? A repetitive script, a lazy pace and some laidback performances....Suno Na is neither offbeat nor mainstream.

SUNO NA plays on your nerves. It's boring to the point of driving you nuts. Although the pretext picked is fine, its implementation leaves you wondering what director Amy Thanawala is upto. The acting is hilarious. I mean there's this one pregnant girl whose boyfriend ditches her. Her parents disown her and she is left to fend for herself. She decides to kill herself, when the child in the womb begins talking to her. At first, this chatter is intriguing, but then it becomes the very bane of this movie.

Amy Thanawala's directorial debut, Suno Na - Ek Nanhi Aawaz had the potential to be a cute film about an unwed mother's foetus talking to her. But it turns out to be more irritating than cute. So disrupting was the 'talking foetus' to the story's flow, that one of the critics present at the venue shouted, 'Kill the d*** thing!' That should already tell you how bad the film is. But we'll still talk about it, considering it's a first-time effort.
