Trying too hard to be cool, the Himesh Reshammiya-starrer Radio is a misguided film about modern relationships.Radio, written and directed by Ishan Trivedi, is an unintentionally hilarious film that unsuccessfully tries to tap the youth and its preoccupation with current fads - from social networking sites like Facebook, to idle chats in coffee-shops.What the film lacks in story, it tries to make up in screenplay gimmicks. I'm going with one-and-a-half out of five for director Ishan Trivedi's Radio. The protagonists in this film repeatedly smash crockery on the floor insisting it's good luck. RADIO rests on a thin storyline. Superficially, it's about a couple that goes separate ways, then man meets another woman, later ex-wife develops a soft corner, much later man is torn between the two women. Haven't we witnessed similar themes in the past? Oh yes, aplenty! The USP of RADIO is, without doubt, Himesh's musical score. The film has some melodious tracks, but how one wishes the super music was complimented by an equally superior script. RADIO rests on a fragile plot, with the writing holding your interest at places, but blowing away the hard work in its immediate chapter. The story that tries to talk about the relationship rigmaroles of the Facebook GenXers doesn't seem to be tailor made for an e-wary Himesh. It just is a bit too young with its FB terminology and its twenty-something heroine (Shenaz Treasurywala) who has a penchant for updating her status on the social network, whenever she's not making eyes at her colleague. So, naturally all this spiel about `commitment', `closure' and a `complicated' relationship status does end up as awkward and odd from someone who would have outgrown FB, Orkut, MySpace years ago. Time for the singer-composer-actor to take up something that suits both his age and his newfound style.Visit Site for More

Radio isn’t much different from a Himesh Reshammiya music video – it has a heart-broken protagonist, it’s gloomy and has an overdose of music. If you are amongst those audacious audiences who buy Himesh’s music video DVDs, this film is certainly for you. Also if you are amongst the ones who have a hearty laugh on Himesh’s expense, this Radio is worth tuning in with friends.For everyone else, take the title song seriously and ‘ Station koi naya, tune kar le zara ’. Radio has no story. It's bunch of haphazardly put together scenes involving some equally confused characters. Adding to the adversity is the director's fixation for dividing his film into non-linear chapters, a la Tarantino. The tag-line 'It's Complicated' and some weird brand endorsements are drilled into your senses, bringing back memories of Yaadein (no pun intended).We wish Himesh got back to full time composing ASAP. But if he insists on acting, we suggest he dumps the hero's part. Leave the glossy packaging aside, Himesh should concentrate on getting a proper role. Radio, it does not work because of its subject. It talks about relationships, which are complicated, according to the tag line. But the film itself is so complicated. Your character Vivan is not sure whether he is in love with his radio jockey colleague (Shemaz Treasurywala) or his ex-wife (newcomer Sonal Sehgal). He's seen roaming around with both women despite a bitter split from the wife.And what is the logic behind breaking plates in the film? Was that funny or were you trying to make a fool of yourself? The music would have been the film's saving grace. But they sound incomplete without your nasal twang.Visit Site for More
