TOSS has an interesting thought that the urban junta would like to watch, but the screenplay blows the story to smithereens. This thriller thrills in bits and spurts and the final outcome is least exciting. The culprit here, like most films helmed by debutantes, is that form overpowers content to such an extent that what you get to watch is a good looking film with minimal substance to offer. In a nutshell, the subject goes for a toss in TOSS.

While the film starts off very crisply without wasting any time to get to the point, after a while it starts dangling around. Some utterly unnecessary song-dance-drama and stupid dream sequences make the proceedings slack and lousy. The interval point is too contrived and there are too many loose ends to the suspense unfolding. The second half gains pace but is stretched so long that you lose interest. The editing is too lazed out for a thriller and the sepia tone cinematography appears dull and dated. Though the film reaches an interesting climax, too much harm has been done by then.

Toss is the A to Z of a rambling screenplay and tacky production values. One moment three guys are chasing one. Cut to the latter beating his chest in front of a Cross of Christ, 'Kill me, kill me.' Next scene, you have a stock-withdrawn mother emphasizing on the exceptional status of a live-in relationship to her unusually panting son.Toss is a text-book demonstration of appalling, over-the-top and awful performances. Not one actor in a cast of mostly lesser known faces project anything remotely to an expression. In all likelihood, this is not the last of the worst I've witnessed. Nevertheless, it's neither head nor tails (read stars) for Toss.
