The inherent problem with Detective Naani is the filmmaker's tendency to "cute-fy" the characters and their behavior. Everyone from the precocious kids to the horny teenagers to the ageing grandma seems to have been doused in a vat of sugar syrup so as to come off as extra-sweet and lovable. It doesn't work. More silly than it's funny, I'll go with one out of five for director Romila Mukherjee's Detective Naani. Just surviving it is something of an accomplishment!Visit Site for More
DETECTIVE NAANI is tedious and interesting, both. Tedious, because what could've been narrated in 1.30 hours is narrated in 2.15 hours. Interesting, because the mystery element and how it eventually gets solved keeps your eyes wide open. Sure, you might call the goings-on childish, but, hey, don't forget the golden mantra.On the whole, DETECTIVE NAANI is too ordinary a fare to stand on its feet. Not bad at all, this sweet little adventure about an adorable grandmother who lives in an upmarket society with her two grand children.it's left to our desi Miss Marple to solve the mystery of the disappearing tribal girls and she does it some aplomb.This one's nice summer fare for the family, specially the restive kids out there.

Unfortunately these are the very reasons why the movie ends up being such a hotchpotch. It stretches for as long as 135-odd minutes and manages to give out some rather confusing signals.Indeed, the movie seems to base itself on some vague idea of bravado. The never-ending screenplay, below average direction and some rather sloppy performances don't make this movie remotely interesting.Visit Site for More
There are films that you can discount for having their heart in the right place. You cannot say the same in the case of Detective Naani. Kids, if you ever decide to watch this movie don't try any of it at home.
