If 'Teen Thay Bhai' was merely slapstick, you'd settle into it after a while. But the film never finds its tone. Apart from a few inspired moments of lunacy, this movie is schizophrenic to say the least, going from spoofy to bizarre to sentimental, and yet remaining consistently dull throughout.
I'm going with one-and-a-half out of five for debutant director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba's 'Teen Thay Bhai'. This isn't merely a bad film, but a shocking one. Shocking because it wastes the talents of three excellent actors, who'd probably have been funnier if they'd been asked to improvise instead of sticking to this stinky script.

TEEN THAY BHAI hits a new low. Besides a shoddy script that prompts the viewer to tear his hair in disgust, even the three actors look completely out of form.On the whole, TEEN THAY BHAI is a terrible waste of a striking story. An exercise in boredom! I wonder, what is the target audience of this film? Is it the elite, the thinking viewer, the multiplex junta who crave for something different? Or is it the aam aadmi, the hoi polloi whose sole maqsad is to be entertained? TEEN THAY BHAI is a shining example of a brilliant idea gone horribly wrong!

Mrigdeep Singh Lamba who does show promise as a filmmaker to watch out for but his first film ends up as a half-blown venture where there are too many theatrics and too many loosely edited scenes to allow the film to unfold as an uninterrupted laugh riot. The film  lacks consistency and some of the comic situations fail to evoke any humour. But by and large, between them, the three brothers create a tantalizing trio that keeps rubbing each other off the wrong side. While the brothers try to co-exist peacefully in the ramschackled bungalow and almost end up killing each other, the drama holds your interest. But as it moves out into the wilderness, with blondes, dogs, drugs and cops, it loses track

Teen Thay Bhai is a film so bewildering and tonally inconsistent that as you watch, you can only wonder: what were these people smoking? The story, about three estranged brothers who are forced to spend time together because of their grandfather’s will, must have sounded good on paper. But the film careens wildly going from slapstick to stoner comedy to high emotion to a chest-waxing scene that echoes The 40 Year Old Virgin. And yet, despite the frantic activity, it manages to be staggeringly boring.Teen Thay Bhai includes everything from fart jokes to a purposefully loud Ram Leela – but I barely smiled. I’m going with one and a half star.

One might justifiably wonder, watching the flat and unfunny Teen Thay Bhai, exactly how three highly skilled performers can be coerced into a film this bad. Teen Thay Bhai proves that actors with comic timing aren't everything, because while each of the actors -- particularly the awesome Dobriyal -- conjures up a couple of genuinely strong laughs apiece, the director doesn't really know the art of telling a joke.Loud and inert at the same time, Teen Thay Bhai is a film to be shunned simply because of how cruelly it treats three actors we should treasure.

For a comedy to be enjoyable, a smart story and slick, funny dialogue are imperative. The comic timing of characters can do a world of wonders to any film of this genre. Unfortunately, in the case of 3 Thay Bhai, apart from Talpade’s bang-on comic timing, everything and everybody else fall flat. A few chuckles here and there do not guarantee a two-and-a-half hour journey of fun and frolic.Too many loose ends, a patchy storyline, and unnecessary additions to the plot make this pseudo comedy a sore watch. To cut a long story short, you won’t miss much if you skip this tepid tale of three brothers. 3 Thay Bhai has no comedy, no entertainment, and nothing much to look forward to.
