Sadda Adda Movie Review

Ratings:2.5/5 Reviewer:Taran Adarsh Site:Bollywood Hungama
SADDA ADDA, actually, takes a long time to come to the point. In fact, there's not much movement in the story in the first hour. But Beg ensures that the first hour has its share of some wonderful, laden-with-wit moments that keep you engrossed. The turning point in the story comes at the interval point, expectedly. Despite the hiccups, SADDA ADDA keeps you engaged in its second hour due to the twists and turns in the story. In fact, the penultimate 20 odd minutes are the mainstay of the film, with the emotional moments making you moist-eyed. The end, luckily, gives you a positive vibe. On the whole, SADDA ADDA is a decent attempt, but will have to rely on a strong word of mouth to sustain.

This one begins with a disclaimer: As long as you dare to dream (and as long as you remain focused), nothing can go wrong. Ironically, the script seems to lose focus from the very word go.... As for the performances what can a bunch of young boys do in a setting -- full of empty beer cans, cigarette butts, underwears, uncooked food, porn mags -- they proudly call sadda adda. Wonder what the purpose of the film was. Do all dreams die always? Depressing.

With Sadda Adda, Beg proves that to make a film all you need is a bunch of guys with decent build and a big house. The traditional story and aesthetics like camerawork are secondary afterthoughtsAs a whole, Sadda Adda doesn’t work, oscillating from mildly entertaining to superfluous as most points. Beg also resorts to needless bickering and preaching (on Islam and Muslims) every now and then. The boys are a fun lot but not fun enough to keep you entertained throughout. Skip this adda and pick up a DVD of Pyaar Ka Punchnama instead.

SADDA ADDA is a movie with the right intention. You could call it a poor cousin of 3 IDIOTS.The movie should strike the right chord with audience from within the college community and those who have just begun their professional career.Like I said, it does end with a message of hope. In these stressful, competitive times, it is indeed heartening to be rejuvenated with a message to live your dreams, and not give up. It also subtly tells us that picking yourself up and fighting on is a better bet than suicide.

'The only thing that will stop you from fulfilling your dreams is you’, is one message which the movie screams out loud and leaves a very positive message, that life is about how you deal with your issues. Sadda Adda offers a pleasing experience, packed in very ‘Men will be Men’ style, yet keeping the emotions intact in the storyline. The story is simple, yet engaging. The emotional quotient is uninterrupted with different emotional backdrops. The first half establishes the characters without inducing much, but second half is more poignant and appealing.  Sadda Adda  is a film with a message and roofed with engaging entertainment, surely makes it a one time watch. No major star cast and promotions can act as a hindrance at the ticket window. It's a bit slow during the first half, but is successful in tickling the funny bone.
