On the whole, DOSTANA is a winner all the way. In terms of content, it might just prove to be a trendsetter. In terms of business, the film holds tremendous appeal for the youth. The 16 to 25 age-group would go into raptures and bonkers over this film. Its business at multiplexes mainly will be amazing. In Overseas too, the film should emerge amongst the biggest draws of 2008. DOSTANA rocks... have a blast!

Dostana works, not because it is a film about gay rights, like Philadelphia, Brokeback Mountain or The Birdcage. So why and how does Dostana work? Simply because it introduces the most outrageous scenes in popular Hindi cinema and manages to get away with it because it's all done with an infectious zest and effervescence that keeps the ribs tickling.

Dostana isn't great cinema, nothing close to it, but it puts the fun back into the movies. You laugh harder than you have in a long time, and for that reason alone, gather your friends and give it a watch.I'm going with three out of five and a thumbs up for director Tarun Mansukhani's Dostana, it's a film with a one-point agenda – to entertain you while you're in your seat. It achieves that, no two ways about it.

Overall, it's an average piece of fluff -- but one of the most hideously insensitive things to come out of Bollywood in a long while. Boman Irani shouldn't have played the part he does, and Karan Johar shouldn't have let this film turn out the way it has. This film is a joke; but the last thing we need is India thinking homosexuality's just another gag.
