Wanted is a film that makes no bones, no pretences about the fact that it'll do anything to get a reaction out of you. It's loud, vulgar, offensive, violent, cold-blooded, dumb, and silly. At times downright stupid and unapologetically excessive, Wanted is a B-grade crowd-pleaser that knows exactly who its audience is.The film is a showcase not so much for Salman's acting, but for his scorching screen-presence and his infectious enthusiasm for dancing. For die-hard fans of the star who don't have a problem with extreme violence and juvenile comedy, this might be a treat. For others though, it's strictly average entertainment.I'm going with two out of five for Prabhu Deva's Wanted. Carry cotton for your ears and a Crocin for the headache.

A departure from candyfloss movies and diabetic-sweet characters that most Hindi movies boast of, WANTED takes you back to those days when popular cinema reigned supreme, when the sole motive of the film-maker was to entertain. WANTED is for those who seek unabashed entertainment and relish masala films. Damn the indomitable critics, pseudo intellectuals and connoisseurs of parallel cinema, this one's not for them. WANTED is for the aam junta. But WANTED is not without its share of flaws. The film stands on a thin storyline and the viewer can guess what's in store next, which means that there's not much novelty in the plot.

The movie is an engrossing yarn of crooked cops, double-crossing villains and a love track - all told at a breathless pace. There's suspense too. Director Prabhu Deva deftly manages to weave in the smaller narratives without losing control over the main story. Wanted is really about style. Smartly lensed, the movie has riveting fight sequences by action director Vijayan. Shiraj Ahmed's dialogues -- Bahut ghoor raha hai. Apni bahen ki shaadi karaega - are sure to induce plenty of seetis and taalis in single-screen theatres.

Wanted is a modern-day rarity, a B-grade actioner that really doesn't spend any time trying to class up its tackiness or pretend to make sense. Scenes merge for no reason whatsoever, the girl pops up wherever guns are fired, and Salman Khan's schizophrenic hair changes style in every single shot. The writing is both amateurish and crass, while the songs are plain hideous. And hey, who wants to waste time with twists? Just keep the punches thick and fast.Khan might be having fun, but the fact a film like Wanted underscores is how badly Bollywood needs a breed of younger leading men. And how the existing lot need roles that fit.

The story by Puri Jagannath is nothing path-breaking and resorts to regular formula like underworld gang war, undercover cops, love at first sight angle, etc etc. But Prabhu Dheva's fast paced direction doesn't give you time to ponder over what's happened and keeps you riveted with the heavy-duty editing and hard-hitting action. What actually gets the graph down is that after glorifying the hero throughout, the climax makes him weak on usual pretexts of father's death or friend's kidnap. There are times when you care a damn about nutrition and indulge in some lip-smacking junk food. 'Wanted' is just that recipe. Never mind some extra calories!

To put it shortly, Salman Khan rocks as Radhe - a tapori, a hitman - he listens to no one and works only for 'money'bhai. The film definitely has a South Indian touch and feel to it but the best part is, as a filmmaker Prabhu Deva doesn't try to experiment much. Yet whatever he does (read silly) he does it with oodles of style. Albeit there’s a little twist in the end, the storyline is more or less predictable. An out-and-out entertainer, Salman is sure to enthrall you not only with his action but his brilliant dance steps.

Frankly, Wanted lacks a gripping storyline.. It's just a plot written to accommodate those numerous action sequences.Wanted is a mixed bag; the action sequences are great and so are the performances but the runtime, music, half-baked love angle and a lot more ensures it falls way short of expectations. While the music is below average, it's the songs that prove to be sleeping pills and Salman Khan dancing around trees is hard to digest. Bollywood is desperately in need of younger 'superstars'.To sum up, Wanted works in parts and mainly due Salman Khan. Scenes involving Prakash Raj are also amongst the highlights of this lengthy action masala entertainer.

If you are crazy about regular commercial masala films leaving your brains at home, Wanted is the right choice. Wanted is a canvas painted in south Indian colours where you can get a glimpse of Rajnikanth in our macho man Salman Khan.Wanted is undisputedly a well-written story with an excellent screenplay. But there is a flipside to it. It is a well-written story which lacks good direction and editing.Wanted rides on Salman Khan despite his regular run-of-the-mill, yet nice performance. On the whole, ‘Salman Khan’ factor will pull the audience to make this film survive. Infact, half the battle is won, courtesy loads of hype. One time watch.
