YEH FAASLEY has an interesting premise, but its writers [Yogesh Mittal, Atul Tiwari and Rajendra P. Makhijani] make a complete mess of it and what eventually unfolds on celluloid is mincemeat of a brilliant thought. But the writing goes horribly wrong after an interesting start and what comes across on screen is clichéd, formulaic and ridiculous. Yeh Faasley is the torturously long and convoluted story of a young girl unravelling her mother's mysterious death.Arunima begins to investigate and finds herself torn between her love for her father and her duty to her dead mother.There is a sliver of a story here but director Yogesh Mittal has twisted and stretched it into a tale of mind-numbing foolishness and boredom.The tragedy is that Yeh Faasley isn't even unintentionally funny so it doesn't make the grade of so-bad-that-it's-good. when it comes to the plot, the pulp begins to flow....The film takes so long to build up to a not-so-predictable climax, it almost enervates you with its sluggishness. The repeated flashbacks with a not-so-happening actor-duo playing out a young Anupam Kher and his wife are meandering and meaningless, as are the daughter's rants about good daddy-bad daddy. The film does show flashes of substance and form, but there's a whole lot of flab that renders it formless.Visit Site for More

this is what Yogesh Mittal's Yeh Faasley stands for. It is about a man who has a past and his daughter who is in pursuit of finding out more truths about him than he can remember, or would even care to. At the centre of her personal inquiry into her father's history is the relationship he's shared with her mother.Instead of going about it in a mature way, the debutant director handles the emotions of an anxious girl in an infantile manner. At times, you have no idea why you are even sitting there and what is it that will salvage Yeh Faasley. If it is a thriller, it does not have the necessary thrills and if it's a murder mystery or a father-daughter drama, it does not make the cut, either.Visit Site for More
