What really makes KHAP watchable is the fact that the director doesn't take sides. The film just doesn't show the Khap panchayats as perpetrators of honor killings. Of course, the film projects honor killings and the Khap panchayat's commands, but the director concurrently ensures that they aren't projected as outright negative.On the whole, KHAP is an honest effort that deserves to be encouraged. Of course, it may not be the most persuasive film that portrays an issue, but at least it makes a sincere effort to be there.Visit Site for More

You can't have an issue-based film which invests more runtime on a campus song, a love ballad, a honeymoon song, a separation song, a hogwash love story and what not. Khap certainly doesn't leave any chaap (mark) on your mind. Pardon me if that sounds corny, the film's been an inspiration!Visit Site for More

Khap’ is a film that ostensibly sets out to challenge the notion of ‘honour killings’, taking us to a Haryana village where such activities seem to over-ride all else. But it is so shoddily done that the opposite is achieved, giving those who practice it with impunity a platform from where they can preach. That a burning social issue has been sought to be addressed is a good thing, but not this way. The khap representatives who are worried that the film will give them a bad rep, and are on a warpath against movie halls showing it, needn’t bother.

Visit Site for MoreThe film would have worked better with a more confident cast of younger players. The elders can only take the drama so far. "Khap" is finally betrayed by the wimpish and awkward portrayal of the urban young and by too many attempts to draw out a soap-opera-styled drama from situations that seem to plead for more finesse in presentation.Nonetheless "Khap" should be commended for attempting a socially-relevant theme with some amount of detachment and equanimity.

KHAP tries to do too many things at the same time and fails to do justice to the cause it intended to serve.The idea and the story of Khap are interesting yet predictable. There are also a few dramatic twists and turns in the screenplay, rendered ineffective by the sloppiness in direction. A badly conceived, developed, written, performed, force-fitted, and directed romantic track delivers the final blow to Khap's credibility as an issue-based film. KHAP is an artistic as well as a box-office disaster.

If you really have nothing to do this weekend and have seen all the movies, then perhaps you could give this a try. It will at least impart you some knowledge about what ‘Khap’ is. Om Puri and Govind Namdev’s performances prove to be a breather. And if at all, you can find yourself something better to do this weekend then, this one's a perfect 'miss'.Visit Site for More

Despite having a sensitive and appealing issue of Honour Killings; veterans like Om Puri, Govind Namdeo, Manoj Pahwa and Mohnish Bahl on its side; director Ajai Sinha’s ‘Khap’ is nothing less than a disappointment. Watching it gives you a feeling of a dated 70’s masala film that fails to entertain.Visit Site for More
