Visit Site for More'Housefull' is the kind of pedestrian comedy that makes 'Singh Is King' feel like a Woody Allen gem. It's the kind of film that will stop at nothing to get a laugh out of you.The humor here is strictly low-brow and the gags mostly slapstick. It doesn't help that the director plagiarizes many of his jokes directly from popular American comedies.In all fairness, some jokes do make you laugh but those are few and far between. For the most part 'Housefull' makes you cringe in embarrassment and disgust for what passes off as 'entertainment' and 'cinema' these days. Bereft of craft and style, and lacking in even simple storytelling, the film is a test of your endurance.I'm going with one-and-a-half out of five for director Sajid Khan's 'Housefull'. If corny humor is your thing, give this film a chance. If you have even a modicum of intelligence or taste, however, stay far away from this one!

HOUSEFULL entertains majorly at places, but it's an uneven ride. Uneven, because the pace dips at several places. It's not a rip-roaring laugh-riot or a non-stop laughathon that one expects it would be, since the focus is on emotions and drama as well. Even the climax, I am sure, will meet with diverse reactions. It will have its share of advocates and adversaries. On the whole, HOUSEFULL is not a complete laugh-riot, but is an entertainer all the way, targeted at the hardcore masses. What really works for the film is its massive star cast, gripping second half and also the skilled performances by each and every member of its cast.Visit Site for More

The film begins on a funny note You do settle down for some fun and games, but sadly, the film peters off into a not-so-funny middle.but the muddlesome middle has already taken its toll on the film by putting the brakes on comedy. The second half picks up again .It's literally slapstick humour, with a lot of slaps flying around between simians and humans, humans and humans. Nevertheless, it makes you laugh, provided you don't go looking for artistry and intelligence. Also, you'll find the usual jokes about homosexuality and Gujarati incredulousness. All said and done, Housefull might not set the summer scorching, but it does create a ripple after a prolonged lull at the multiplexes. In Housefull, director Sajid Khan has only one purpose: he wants to make you laugh. Does he accomplish this? Not often enough. Housefull belongs to the same school of comedy that gave us Welcome, No Entry, Golmaal and All the Best. There is no craft or narrative or characterisation to speak of.Random events and characters, lies and misunderstandings, serve to create a low-IQ comedy. Housefull, about the misadventures of a singularly unlucky man named Aarush, played by Akshay Kumar, is exhaustingly inconsistent. There are a few laugh-out loud moments here and some sparkling asides. eventually, the writing in Housefull is too mediocre and the film is, at best, a below average entertainer. The film itself is just as distasteful. Just as you've stopped cringing at a typical farcical stereotype, another one comes along: the black baby makes way for the gay jokes, after which come pun-laden Sikhs Santa and Banta, all while people reassuringly tell their elder brothers things like 'oh, of course he's rich.' You get the drift. he tries far too hard to forcibly inject consistently lame humour from every pore of his film. Watching Housefull is exhausting, above all else.On the Akshay Kumar filmography, this film deserves pride of place right between Chandni Chowk To China and Kambakkht Ishq. Kumar's paid dozens of crores for this shtick, but what's your excuse for watching?Visit Site for More

Sketchily written ,awkwardly directed , and devoid of a catchy music score,this brainbasher leaves you exhausted and exasperated – in its multi-crore budget, 20 sensible films could have been made. But no there must be stars, there must be overseas locations, there must be stale cornflour. It is believed that this is what the lowest common denominator wants.C’est la Bollywood cinema. Myopically, it is not acknowledged that it is time to buck the formula, that the audience want and will appreciate a change.It merely indicates that we are going through the Rusty age of comedy. Stay at home, and tickle yourself with a feather instead.

pile up silliness upon silliness by all means, but Do Not Give Me A Moment’s Pause. Also, Give Me Only Those Actors Who Can Make Me Laugh. ‘ Housefull’ is much too long, and much too ridden with dull interludes. he inflated balloon of a script makes space for actors with not a comic bone in their body, and allegedly humorous situations which stop the film dead, especially in the tedious second half. leading man Akshay Kumar, who’s flat and predictable. How many times will he essay the same part—lovable-loser-who-will-always-tell-the-truth?Next time around, Sajid, give us something that will really make us double over. There have been several earlier films based on comedies of errors. The recent All The Best, for one, had a very similar storyline. But this subject does have some new twists and turns, including that of a man having three ‘beloveds’. The screenplay has several interesting anecdotes but what is lacking is consistency because of which it doesn’t turn out to be a laugh riot. The problem with the screenplay is that it hops from one scene to another and often forgets what’s been tackled before just a few minutes. But the good thing about the screenplay is that it keeps the viewer engaged completely in the drama.Visit Site for More

This is the magnet, which attracted that many bums to cinema seats on a packed first-day first-show of this film. The first gag reprises a scene from the Ben Stiller comedy A Night At A Museum. The second one is an obvious impression from Hangover. Both elicited roars at the theatre. The hit song is a Kalyanji-Anandji number, remixed, from Lawaaris.I suppose filmmaking is also a culinary art of marinating spices and scenes together. The purpose appears served.Piyadarshan attempts such a movie every other weekend. Akshay Kumar stars in most of them. He top-lines similar stuff from many other directors as well. What more can you suggest for a movie called Housefull. Like the magazine Hustler, or the cream Fair And Lovely, the unsubtle intentions are in the title alone.
