'Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap' is positioned as the ultimate wet-dream for Amitabh Bachchan fans. Discerning viewers, more than likely, will wish the film had a little more to offer in terms of an engaging plot and interesting characters, in addition to the unabashed Bachchan-worship. Amitabh Bachchan, the star, deserves a better tribute than Bbuddah. If you're an unconditional fan though, you'll make your peace with this one. I'm going with two out of five for director Puri Jagannadh's 'Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap'. It's an inoffensive but lazy film that barely scratches the surface of this big, bright shining star.

BBUDDAH HOGA TERRA BAAP has the 69-year-old Bachchan enacting the role of a defiant, flamboyant hitman in his inimitable style. With BBUDDAH HOGA TERRA BAAP, the angry young man of the 1970s and 1980s re-surfaces to re-live various roles that he enacted in those memorable films. This one's a masala film all the way. Right from a medley of Bachchan hits to the expertly crafted action sequences to the by-now-famous Bachchan baritone, this one has it all. On the whole, BBUDDAH HOGA TERRA BAAP is a must-watch for Bachchan fans.

Look beyond the misleading pulp fiction title and you will end up savouring a film which amply proves why Bachchan has remained the ultimate showman that the Indian film industry has ever produced. No, this isn't Bachchan's best and may not compare with his classics -- and we don't need to name them here. Nevertheless, Bbuddah... is a high dose entertainer when the veteran actor never stops amazing you with the range of his histrionics.Way to go Mr Bachchan. We always maintained you were the best. Of course, the film has its loose and superfluous moments, but those are easily ignored.

Puri Jagannath's film is not a particularly well-crafted one. The story is threadbare, the scenes disjointed and abrupt, and poor Raveena Tandon is made to contort her face for almost a full minute. None of that matters. This isn't a masala film, it's a full-blown exploitation flick, and all that makes it work is the man under the spotlight.Plot? Please. Amitabh Bachchan is a retired gangster freshly back in Mumbai and his triggerfingers are itchy. That's all that counts. Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap is not a particularly well-crafted film but none of that matters as Amitabh Bachchan makes it work.

The writing isn’t strong, nor are the characters. A lot in Bbuddah… is loose, vague and unnecessary, like the Bs and Ds in the title. Bbuddah is a Big B show all the way, loud, flamboyant, and effervescent with an energy that comes only from a man of his stature. Duniya mein do kism ke log hote hain, ek jo Bachchan ke fans hote hain aur doosre jo aisi filmo mein koi sense nahi dekhte hai.You decide which part of the duniya you’re part of. We love the angry young man of the 70s and 80s. Bachchan saab, aaj khush toh bahut hoge tum, but this angry, wanna-be buddah does not make us feel the same.

What Puri Jagannadh does in this Bachchan redux is to give us a Big B retelling, and reveling in, his own myth, of superstar eternal. Which seesaws between getting us all nostalgic, and all irritated : when Bachchan plays it with a nudge and wink, we are laughing with him, having a blast; when he gets serious, he’s the one we are hyukking at.If ‘Bbuddah’ proves something, it is that there has never been star-actor to fill the Bachchan shaped hole his getting silver has caused

Bbuddah... Hoga Terra Baap is a feast for Amitabh Bachchan buffs. The film ends with a disclaimer saying it’s a tribute to the phenomenon and that says it all. Needless to say, it’s crafted to provide Bachchan with ceetee inducing situations and he heartily plays to the gallery. Prakash Raj repeats his Wanted act and the stand off scenes between him and Bachchan are a delight to watch. He gets the best lines and feeds them to you with panache. Any other actor would have made the situations absurd and cheesy but its Bachchan’s class that elevates the absurd to the sublime.

What’s Good: Amitabh Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan.
What’s Bad: The lack of an interesting script; the routine dialogues; the director’s very obvious attempt to make the film as a showreel for Bachchan.
Watch or not?: Watch it for Amitabh Bachchan, of course! His performance seems to be saying to every young actor, “Bbuddah hoga… tu!!”

Specially crafted for the star of millennium, BBUDDAH HOGA TERRA BAAP stands apt for its name. BBUDDAH is captivating right from scene one. But it truly takes your breath away the minute Big B enters. Everytime you see the iconic superstar on-screen your heart misses a beat..BBUDDAH is purely for Amitabh Bachchan fans. Now a piece of advice for the dear movie buffs especially the 'Amitabh' Bachchan fans - please take your near and dear ones to a picnic called BBUDDAH.
