I strongly feel that you should view animation films exactly the way a kid approaches it. Just keep your thinking caps aside and chances are, you might fall for its charm. BIRD IDOL has some endearing moments, but despite a running time of approx. 100 minutes, it looks like a lengthy exercise. That's because the film abounds in songs and some unwanted scenes and since they [the songs] aren't promoted at all, it reverses the impact created by a few interesting sequences. Most importantly, does BIRD IDOL offer more than what's being offered round-the-clock on television vis-a-vis animation shows? Will its target audience [the kids] prefer the animation film over popular animation shows on TV? The answer to both the questions is, unfortunately, negative. On the whole, BIRD IDOL is watchable in parts, but the lack of awareness will make the effort go unnoticed.Visit Site for More

Indian animation takes a refreshing turn with Bird Idol, a film which transforms a typical Bollywood masala film into animation and converts the love birds, literally into love birds. So that you have a pair of runaway lovers who are birds and are forced to flee their remote jungle village due to its antiquated laws which prevent birds from different species pairing up.The animation is colourful and cheery, the dialogues are crisp, the characters are natty and the voice-over by Prashant Narayan for the wicked vulture is riveting. Take your kids and say a Yes to this energetic indigenous enterprise in the world of animation.Visit Site for More

As an Indian animated film, Bird Idol is definitely an honest attempt. But as Indian theatres are flooded with quality Hollywood animation films, this film will fail to grab any attention. However, no compromises are made and it tries to match up to the Hollywood style. Apparently, in spite of being projected as a laugh riot of a film, there is not a single scene which makes you laugh. You are just watching the film because you happen to be there.Parents who complain that there aren't sufficient films made for kids, Bird Idol might just be their answer. However, perhaps even the new generation kids will find the film a bore. If there are no Hollywood animated movies for the offering, give your kids a different treat, this summer vacation.Visit Site for More

There is hope for Indian animation. Any film that stays away from gods and goddesses, the staple (and extent) of our animated flourishes deserves applause. And `Bird Idol’ earns more brownie points by giving us an original plot, witty lines, and a cast of chirpy, cheerful characters. `Bird Idol’ proves that sure, Indian animation is still in its infancy if you compare it to the kind of technical wizardry we see routinely in the west, and uptil now, there’s been no discernible growth in the sector ( despite an occasional `Hanuman’, and `Hanuman Returns’) , but there is huge untapped potential, just waiting to be uncorked.Take the little ones, they will have fun.
