For as long as the film sticks to its comic tone, there is pleasure to be had in its silly yet disarming jokes.Unfortunately the film slips into a preachy, melodramatic tone delivering labored messages about guests being equal to God, and about the responsibility that children owe their parents. The climax, too, is an over-sentimental mess that is unnecessarily exaggerated and hence fails to strike a chord.Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge? is adapted from a short story by Sharad Joshi, and needed to be fleshed out better before making the transition to film. With better writing it might have been a crackling piece of comedy. As it is now, it's a reasonably enjoyable weekend watch.Visit Site for More

ATITHI TUM KAB JAOGE? mirrors a reality, but the story has scope for not just humour and emotions, the staple diet of most Hindi movies, but there's a generous dose of devotional quotient that is well integrated in the storyline. ATITHI TUM KAB JAOGE? is a light-hearted entertainer that tickles your funny bone at several points. The best part is, you not only laugh at the funny one-liners, but also at situations, which are so life-like and which makes you connect with them instantly. On the whole, ATITHI TUM KAB JAOGE? is a hilarious movie, but unlike any slapstick comedy. It's a light-hearted film with sensibility, humour and a strong undercurrent of emotion. Neat. Subtle. And softly funny. Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge is quite unlike the hysterical laugh acts that have been trying terribly hard to make you laugh in recent Bollywood. More of a chuckle-and-a-smirk drama, this one doesn't even try to convince you that life is all ha-ha-he-he. Instead, it creates situations and characters that fill you with warmth and make you smile with the familiar quirkiness of recognisable situations. Paresh Rawal leads the gentle humour brigade that finds great foot soldiers in the likes of Devgn (restrained and likeable), Konkana (earthy and grounded), Satish Kaushik (watchable) and Sanjay Mishra (impressive). Is it truly back to the 1980s for Bollywood comedies? Wait and watch out for some more of the Basu Chatterjee-Hrishikesh Mukherjee brand revival.Visit Site for More

Directed by Ashwini Dheer, Atithi tells a simple and unconventional story, and sees great performances from the lead castAtithi Tum Kab Jaoge is a lighthearted entertainer that tickles your funny bone several times in the film. The film has its share of one-liners and and funny situations, which you can identify with. Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge’ has an eventful screenlplay, which keeps you entertained through out the film. The comedy keeps you in splits, and isn’t a slapstick one. Paresh Rawal steals the show with his excellent performance, and keeps the audience glued to their seats. He is supported by Konkana Sen and Ajay Devgan, both increasing the comedy quotient.The movie is based on a story by writer Sharad Joshi. ‘Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge’ also has some really amazing spoofs of famous songs, like ‘ Beedi Jaliye Le’ and ‘ Na Jaane Tum Kab Aaoyge’ . We’ve all suffered guests who outstay their welcome. But when Ashwani Dhir tries to make a two-hour comedy out of a one-line situation, he runs into a problem that a three- member family has no answers to : there are not enough characters to spread the laughs over, not even when the aforementioned `atithi’ is the redoubtable Paresh Rawal. But there’s nothing fresh about Dhir’s film, which employs tired characters ( Satish Kaushik playing a bejeweled film producer who keeps saying `jai mata di’, for instance), and even more tiresome clichés.Visit Site for More

Visit Site for MoreAtithi Tum Kab Jaoge, based on a short story by the noted satirist Sharad Joshi, is exactly that: a short story stretched into a movie..Writer-director Ashwini Dheer manages to infuse some fun into this But mostly, Atithi feels laboured and long. There's only that much you can do with an annoying guest and Dheer does it all before shifting tone from comedy to emotional melodrama with a dollop of religious fervour thrown in for good measure. Dheer has a stellar cast of three national award winning actors but he doesn't give them sparkling lines or substantial moments. Aththi Tum Kab Jaoge attempts to impart valuable lessons but the comic sugar-coating just doesn't crackle enough.

Recommended: Yes, with wanted or unwanted guest, ATKJ is a modern Hrishida and Basu da recall carries those popular Bollywood elements and with the spirituality angle thrown in for desired effect.
