London Paris New York Movie Review

What the film has going for it, however, is its breezy vibe, and the crackling chemistry between its leads. The humor, initiated mostly by Nikhil, isn’t of the laugh-out-loud variety, but includes some clever zingers. The film itself cruises along inoffensively despite the potholes, clocking in at a crisp 100 minutes, and is aided by some snazzy camerawork and hummable songs. I’m going with three out of five for writer-director Anu Menon’s London Paris New York. The charismatic actors rise above the flawed script to deliver an easy, enjoyable evening at the movies. Watch it for its freshness; you won’t be bored.

LONDON PARIS NEW YORK is a chic rom-com that's filmed in three hot-n-happening cities of the world.. What also sets this film apart is the fact that the story unfurls in eight years in three of the world's most thrilling cities, with the viewer getting a foretaste of everything that's allied with a rom-com in this globe-hopping voyage.The film follows their special voyage and their love story as they meet in London, Paris and New York over eight years. The film is in three subdivisions and each chapter is shot in a manner that mirrors the psychological state of Nikhil and Lalitha. On the whole, LONDON PARIS NEW YORK is akin to a lungful of fresh air amidst the hackneyed and passe rom-coms. It's a quirky, witty, coming-of-age movie that takes a conventional premise and twirls it into something delightfully unconventional, designed to charm and magnetize the urban youth. The movie speaks their lingo, mirrors their objectives and depicts the anguish and elation of falling in love. If you are young or young at heart, celebrate your weekend by leaping on to this feel-good earth hopping romance.

London Paris New York is a sweet story that deals with very real emotions. It is urbane, cool and thankfully, not dated. The simplicity of the dialogues makes it enjoyable. It deals with the trials and tribulations of the youth, and the complexities of finding real love. It probably won't move you to tears, but one thing is for sure -- after traveling across the globe, this one won't leave you jet-lagged.

Beginning on a light-hearted note, the director is unable to sustain the mood. When the characters are in a state of turmoil the dialogues lose their conversational feel. It's here the film starts running out of steam. The director uses melodrama to depict anxiety and stress.The film has its moments though. Aditi speaks her mind, barfs all over her lover boy in a drunken haze and doesn't set out to make herself alluring or enticing. But then there are also some major gaffes in the screenplay.The clichéd climax doesn't bring any sense of relief either.The film undoubtedly belongs to cinematographer and for that alone give this film a chance

This movie gets it right in the first half. Despite the trepidation of watching yet another rom-com, grow up and accept yourself kind of movie, Ali Zafar and Aditi Rao Hydari pull it off. As the movie gets intense, the conversation becomes filmy, that lightheartedness goes.I’ll go with 2.5 stars for this film, for spinning yet another rom-com, which tries to be different, but doesn’t really succeed. I missed a story in the film.

Aditi and Ali manage to hook you from their first scene together onwards. Don't go by the star tag, these are stars of the future. Especially Aditi.Their on-screen chemistry can be felt. Their falling in love is almost magical. Their meeting over three cities to test their love is a novel way of exploring their emotions. Can a long distance relationship survive? The subject is bold in its treatment. The way these two youngsters, who are away from their homes in a foreign land, conduct themselves is also laudable. Not every parent would want this but then every 20-year-old has a mind of his own. For two new actors to hold you mesmerized is laudable. This movie should be a definite 'must see' on your 'to do list' this weekend.

The first half of the movie takes time to sink in, while the second seems to be dragged. A very predictable climax takes away the hope for some twist one expects throughout the movie. The plot doesn’t justify the connectivity between the lead characters. However, some portions are different and few lighter moments help the movie sail through.For all Ali Zafar and Aditi Rao Hydari’s fans, who can endure anything to watch them on silver screen for almost two hours can grab a ticket. Lack of story telling takes away the chance from the movie to enter the area of popcorn films.
