 Sarkar 3 is an improvement on many of Varma’s recent films, which, quite frankly, were unwatchable to say the least. Yet it’s steeped in familiarity and an overwhelming sense of repetition and pointlessness. Did we really need another Sarkar film? Sadly, the answer is no. I’m going with two out of five.

 his makes me wonder if Varma's ability for self-destruction was always built into his greatness.Satya ended with Varma talking directly to the audience as he scrawled out: 'My tears for Satya are as much as they are for the people he killed.'Here's what is paradoxical: For sheer power, no imagery he has thought up since beats that white text on black screen.In his interviews, you felt that there burned in Ram Gopal Varma a constant yearning to be viewed as an enigma.If it helps, he has now truly become one.

 SARKAR 3 being political, there is hardly any place for music (Ravi Shankar), except for a religious Ganpati aarti. The film’s background score is totally disconnected from the ongoings on screen.While the cinematography (Amol Rathod) is average, the film’s editing (Anwar Ali) is terrible. The film even suffers from poor dubbing at many places.On the whole, SARKAR 3 comes across as an old wine in a new bottle and offers nothing new to the audience. At the Box-Office, the movie will find it difficult to sustain and will end with a whimper.

 I do hope this is the end of the Sarkar saga. We know Varma, with his incredible lack of self-importance and startling disregard for legacy, can make a sequel to anything. I wish merely for there to be some offers even he would refuse.The plotting is oafish, the character motivations are boringly shallow, and there seems to have been a catastrophic misreading of what palace politics entail.

 The brooding palette of shadow and light that has been the trademark of this franchise is retained, as is the Govinda chant that works as a terrific background score. The Ganesh-aarti rendered by Bachchan is spellbinding; the iconic actor is also in top form, mesmerizing you with his grey shades and grey irises. For his legion of fans, this one is an important outing. Amit, Manoj, Jackie and Ronit lend weightage. However, the actresses--Yami, Supriya and Rohini are short-changed.

 Varma sticks to business of creating a political quagmire filled with deceit, betrayal and double-crossing. The twists in the second-half in this thriller may not be mind-boggling, but it’s engaging enough to make us sit it out. But this whole drama may make you wonder if Sarkar, the commanding chief, should gracefully retire from the political scene? Just a thought.

 As it is a Ram Gopal Varma movie, you expect long dialogues, tight shots of random things like the puppy in Sarkar's living room, the Ganesha hanging on the wall, an extremely tight shot of Yami Gautam's eyes from the cup handles and many more. Apart from the superfluous shots, the film also has superfluous characters that don't add much to the storyline. But they do stretch the movie and it seems painfully slow in the second half.Watch the film if you are an Amitabh Bachchan fan as he doesn't fail you.

Sarkaar 3  Story:  

Annu Karkare (Yami Gautam) conspires and attempts to avenge the death of her father, for which she blames "Sarkar" (Amitabh Bachchan). Juxtaposed with the situation is Sarkar's own personal battles with his volatile grandson Shivaji Nagre or "Cheeku" (Amit Sadh). Parallely the political and corporate diaspora pose threats to Sarkar's dominance. Assisted by his aide Gokul Satam (Ronit Roy), Sarkar deals with one of his greatest adversaries in the form of Michael Valya (Jackie Shroff) and the moody and seemingly violent politician Govind Deshpande (Manoj Bajpayee).
