The crackling 2009 American rom-com (500) Days of Summer claims another set of victims in the makers of Meri Pyaari Bindu, who, like the makers of Katti Batti, attempt – unsuccessfully as it turns out – to replicate the inventive, charming nature of that film. There are moments and sequences in the film that are moving and funny and quietly heartbreaking. But those are few in an overlong film that never quite finds its groove. I’m going with two out of five for Meri Pyaari Bindu. It’s an opportunity lost.Visit Site For More

But to keep us interested in this construct of a ditsy, selfish, flighty, confused female lead for two hours and more becomes an exercise in patience, because Bindu herself isn’t interesting enough. And that’s the trouble with Meri Pyaari Bindu, which proves that Bollyland romance still hasn’t got over its ‘500 Days Of Summer’ overhang.Visit Site For More

Everything that I dislike about Bindu could also be used to her advantage in creating an unapologetic, compulsive attention seeker. Except under Roy and Sengupta’s infuriatingly daft and regressive outlook, Meri Pyaari Bindu relapses into indefensible stupidity.Visit Site For More

The movie as a whole skirts the corny territory too. It’s the simplest rom-com plot: Boy meets girl. He climbs a tree into her room, childhood tricks turn into grown-up troubles and somewhere along the line, friendship jumps the fence.Visit Site For More

Meri Pyaari Bindu is a whimsical look at youthful ambition and the urge for freedom. The lead characters nurture opposing approaches to life and yet they get along like a house on fire. The boy has an overly protective mother (Aparajita Auddy) who does not leave him alone for a second; the girl has an alcoholic armyman-father (Prakash Belawadi) whose irresponsible ways has tragic consequences. But they aren't moaners. They take the smooth with the rough without losing their cool.Visit Site For More

The film’s popular track ‘Haareya Main Dil Haareya’ was missing from the film. The film's cinematography (Tushar Kanti Ray) is also average. The film’s editing (Shweta Venkat Mathew) definitely should have been razor sharp and crisper, more so towards the second half. Doing away with some of the unwanted scenes would’ve helped. On the whole, MERI PYAARI BINDU is a one-time watch which fails big time on account of its confused plot and convoluted screenplay. At the Box-Office, it will turn out to be an average fare. Disappointing.Visit Site For More

What’s Good: Probably the music is the only saving grace in this film. What’s Bad: A weak script with little purpose or relevance. An overstretched climax too.Loo Break: Yes! Probably more than two!Watch or Not?: Passable. There’s nothing worth your time and money here.Visit Site For More

Meri Pyaari Bindu is unfortunately not what you have been waiting for. It’s a love story but the love, frankly, eluded me. The film is all about childhood friendship and one-sided love; it has several references of recent movies as well as old Hindi songs yet it doesn’t really touch your heart. The film definitely makes you feel for Ayushmann and understand Bindu’s predicaments to an extent but the storytelling and humour could have had far more punch. I would say Meri Pyaari Bindu is more about friendship than love so don’t expect a love story here. Watch it only if you are a fan of the stars...Visit Site For More
