Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom Movie Reviews
Ratings:3/5 Review By: Tiushar Joshi Site:DNAThe film is slow and takes a long time before we actually start following Mandela's struggle and his life. Most of the scenes looks like they have been stuck together and don't flow like a cohesive screenplay should. With too much material and very little time, Chadwick struggles to find the right balance. Eventually you end up feeling like you read up a Wikipedia page on the man than get a glimpse into his personal life. Moderately interesting, Mandela is long and tiring, but the performances make it worth the while.

Chadwick's film is a straightforward, chronological look at Mandela's life from boyhood to old age. It's a carefully balanced film that may not do full justice to Mandela, but it's more invigorating than the filmi Mandela we saw in Clint Eastwood's Invictus. Chadwick's film should be mandatory viewing for politicians in India. Perhaps they could take a few tips from a man who was flawed but powerfulVisit Site for more

Contrary to Mandela's life that had enough drama, the film fails to capture any of it...making it boring at times. It works because of the real life story of Mandela. An iconic world figure deserves a much better biopic! Here they don't call it a long walk for no reason, the film is 140 minutes long and that is very long for this genre. No doubt it's a story waiting to be told in every form but it could have been much better!Visit Site for more

In some scenes of the movie you get a nostalgic feeling. The life of the leader it chronicles is overwhelming. The magnetic performance by both the actors Idris Elba and Naomie Harris helped the movie give a lyrical exploration of the political and the social scenario of that era and how it affected a person’s life and personal relationships. It successfully showed a man’s youthful political idealism gradually turning into a passion which the world will always remember.Visit Site for more
