For some, the promise of two Sunny Leones for the price of one may be enough to invest in a ticket of Mastizaade. But believe me, there is such a thing as too much heaving bosom and jiggling backside. I found myself cringing more than laughing at the film’s idea of outrageous, adult humor. I’m going with one out of five.

On the whole, Masti-Zaade is an adult comedy which fails to tickle the funny bone and also fails to titillate. Despite abundance of sex, this one will fall flat on its face because it is too obscene and in your face.

Look, there's nothing wrong with stupid film, says a frustrated Raja Sen. Or, heaven forbid, with sexy films. Or films that delight in being a cross between the two. Yet, if such objects to arouse pre-pubescent sweat must be made, why can't they be funny?

Every 20 minutes, a song breaks. Sunny, who is on familiar territory, looks gorgeous as she parades in an assortment of bikinis. She has also mastered the Bollywood song-dance routine and gracefully sashays to Rom Rom Romantic and Hor Nach. Bollywood believes that if you have Sunny in a film, you do not need a script.

WHAT’S NOT: Somehow, the second half of the film just cannot keep pace and as the film progresses, it goes into the ridiculously slapstick zone. The gags start wearing out after a point mainly because of the lack of a story. If only the writers (Mushtaq Sheikh and Milap) had taken this sex comedy a bit more seriously, they would’ve realized that Suresh Menon’s gay caricature isn’t funny anymore. Or that seeing a veteran like Asrani almost bare-clad under a waterfall is awkward and embarrassing. WHAT TO DO: A feast for Sunny Leone fans, Mastizaade is shocking and scandalous.

that brings us to Sunny Leone, whose comfort with her body beautiful is presumably the sole reason for this film to exist. She is gorgeous, this woman. But the moment she opens her mouth, she’s oh-so-boring. Can nakedness be as dull-as-ditchwater? Yes, when that’s all there is. She is made to say: ‘sambhal ke rakhna Mr Kele kyonki aa rahi hai Laila Lele’. Teeth, gnash. Whatever happened to the smart girl underneath all that skin? Not moan, because that would be the kind of sound this film should encourage. But groan.

On the whole, MASTIZAADE comes across as a ludicrous movie with an absurdly inept story and screenplay. After the initial hysteria subsides the film will struggle at the box office due to its weak content.

It only goes from being silly to outright repulsive. By the time you reach the climax, which by the way has chubby Suresh Menon going around showing off his chest hair shaved in the shape of a heart, you can't wait to escape, as your senses have by now begun begging to be saved from this assault.

There are images that will haunt viewers in their nightmares for a while including seeing the septuagenarian Asrani dress up in leafy underwear and get drenched. Wicked humour is not always indigestible and unfunny but Zaveri sure knows how to accomplish that.

Mastizaade pulls out all the stops and lets the ribald humour gush for 108 minutes. The go-for-broke climax, set on a conveyor belt that is lathered with the kind of glue used to trap rodents, is more apt than the filmmakers realise. When you wallows in the depths, it is bound to get sticky.

The film is an attempt to put together a collage of some funny and not so funny jokes and use the box office draw – Sunny Leone to full advantage.A lot of scenes in the film are clichéd and even with the long pauses and build up one can predict the end of a stretched joke. Some even seem borrowed from Whatsapp groups. The climax is poorly written and badly executed almost as if it were a scene out of a 90s slapstick show. Mastizaade is clearly a Sunny Leone film, and if you plan to watch it for her then it’s worth the price of admission.
