If you had the bad luck of watching its prequel - MSG : The Messenger, then you already know that the film's theme is a guilty pleasure trip which shouldn't be taken seriously. Much like its earlier edition, the film is merely a vanity project for Pitaji who uses it to exhibit the blingy clothes he designs, the gibberish rock songs he composes and sings and flash his custom-made, pimped-up, mint green cars that has a heart in place of the number plate.

MSG 2 is a bizarre experience, and while definitely one that would make me want to ask Rediff.com for a raise, it's mercifully an hour shorter than the unending first release and may also prove to be a daftly enjoyable release for those partaking in the substances Mr Insan is so vehemently opposed to. (Or is he?)

From tearing a spear into two by a flick of his fingers to playing the 'desi' Mountain (Game Of Thrones!), Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji performs a lot of unbelievable stunts in this blatant self promotion. MSG 2 makes Alif Laila and Gunda look like classics. And, they say it's based on true events. God save those who are planning to watch MSG 2. This sequel is beyond rating.

Sant Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singhji Insan is not a filmmaker and what he makes aren't films. When we watch his on-screen spectacles, we are choosing to be entertained by the most tasteless exhibition of rhinestones in the history of human endeavour and letting a man with thoroughly questionable credentials get away with seeming like he’s a harmless entertainer.

What is unusual is that Singh wants these computer-generated miracles to be brought to the mainstream. The controversial cult head doesn’t only want to prove that he is a saint. He is on a mission to gain greater influence. Singh has demonstrated that he has the funds and the ability to start a movie franchise. As long as there are newspaper columns that can be bought and cinema seats to be filled, there will be no stopping him.
