Tamanchey Hindi Movie Review

In Tamanchey, instead of a self-righteous boy serenading a vestal virgin, you have a bad boy romancing a bad girl. But does this alone qualify as a coming-of-age pulp fiction romantic thriller? By the end of the film, your answer is that only the intention should be applauded, not necessarily the execution. One star in the rating is reserved solely for the livewire, Richa Chadha. Like in Fukrey, in Tamanchey too, she gets her bindaas, badass girl act pat.Visit Site for more

This is director Navneet Behal's debut film, but he shows little spark. There are quite a few shaky moments in the film, which could have been tackled better by Navneet in order for the film to look glossier. The dubbing seems to have gone off at quite a few places whereas the camera angles look and behave very amateurish at places, especially during the climax fight scenes. Navneet should have adopted fresh ideas in the film's plot to make it more believable. All in all, TAMANCHEY is an average fare.Visit Site for more

Check for seasoning : is Richa Chaddha, the girl who gave off such promise in ‘Oye Lucky’, and was so striking in ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’ well and truly buried, only able to show us weak glimpses of what she can do?Visit Site for more

Tamanchey is funny, fast paced and fierce but begins to fizzle out just when you're starting to like it. Behal introduces both the story and the characters beautifully but in his quest of making Tamanchey the next big thing, he loses sight of what really matters. On paper, Tamanchey must have seemed like a great idea but it's transition to celluloid, perhaps, needed a stronger, more experienced director. The end, along with a good twenty minutes that precede it, seem entirely forced.Visit Site for more

Tamanchey falls way short of the mark. A stodgy and aimless noir drama, it is a rusty gun that fires noisy blanks without making any impact at all. The reason is obvious: the film’s makers are like a bunch of over-ambitious swimmers who’ve never been in a pool before but have ill-advisedly set out to cross the Strait of Gibraltar. The result is inevitable disaster: they do not get very far. Tamanchey makes terribly rough weather of a wafer-thin plot that plumbs the depths of outright inanity. In the end, Tamanchey is about as edifying as a mud wrestling bout with a drugged gorilla.Visit Site for more

Tamanchey has a scene in which the lead pair starts making out during a bank dacoity. The ideas behind this sequence might be grand but how it looks on the screen is nothing more than a juvenile effort. Unfortunately, there are many such scenes in the film. Talking of pace, the editor has done a good job by keeping a fast tempo and it saves the film from falling apart in the climax, which is highly predictable.Overall, Tamanchey lacks novelty but can be watched once for its tongue in cheek dialogues.Visit Site for more

The film has many loopholes, and some parts are hard to digest. But Tamanchey still qualifies for a one time watch. If you are expecting glamour of Bang Bang or class of Haider, then please plan something else for the week. But if you are a fan of crime capers, which are strange yet entertaining, then book the tickets for Tamanchey.Visit Site for more
