Baby Hindi Movie Review
Ratings:3/5 Review By: Rajeev Masand Site:CNN IBN
Borrowing its structure from Zero Dark Thirty, its climax from Argo, its intention from Nikhil Advani’s D-Day, and its occasionally jingoistic tone from your standard Bollywood B-movie, Baby, directed by Neeraj Pandey, is a khichdi of influences, and an uneven film as a result.I’m going with three out of five for Baby. Enjoy it for the brisk action thriller that it is, and try not to think about how much better it could’ve been.Visit Site for more

Business could’ve been far better had the film taken a flying start but its ordinary initial on the one hand and absence of ingredients like romance, music, emotions and comedy on the other will ultimately restrict its business. Even though collections are bound to pick up due to positive word of mouth and in spite of the benefit of the Republic Day national holiday, it would not prove to be an earning proposition in the final tally as the price is high.Visit Site for more

Watched Baby. O-U-T-S-T-A-N-D-I-N-G. Neeraj Pandey proves his prowess yet again. Brilliant cinema!Baby is Akshay's best work. Rana Daggubati, Anupam Kher, Danny, Taapsee, Kay Kay, Mikaal Zulfiqar, Rasheed Naz - each actor is first-rate. Baby has engaging 1st half and a superb 2nd. The last 40 minutes are nail-biting with an edge of the seat finale. You just can't miss it.Visit Site for more

Neeraj Pandey gives a far more palatable tale and heroic tale of a few good men and one women sacrificing their life for the country which translates into solid entertainmentVisit Site for more

The first half of Baby makes you feel you are Rakesh. But when you make it till the film ends, you will feel happy that you sat through the torture in the first half. The second-half, especially the climax is where the film has scored well and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Pandey’s Baby, one must say, wouldn’t have been as interesting without the lead troika. Go watch Baby for Akki-Kher-Danny troikaVisit Site for more

Baby, written and directed by Neeraj Pandey, is a tricky film in more ways than one. It might have been hailed as just another innocuous, smartly-packaged, competently shot espionage thriller if only the politics at its heart not been so dangerously dodgy. The point that Baby seems to make is that it isn't just trained killing machines, but also the nation as a whole, that can, and should, do 'anything', collateral damage be damned.Visit Site for more

Balancing characters, conspiracies and cities, director Neeraj Pandey admirably keeps Baby rich, yet tight, researched, non-sentimental and steely-eyed. Neeraj's craft has grown - he's taken trademark touches from films like Special 26 and A Wednesday, setting them here on a grand scale, with a breath-taking climax. The cinematography - desert dunes in nothing but shaded moonlight - is elegant while dialogues are robust. One of Baby's crew tells Ajay, "Tension kya lena? Ulta, aapke rehte, mazaa aata hai."Quite. This Baby's day out is deadly good fun.Visit Site for more

‘Baby’ is a perfect vehicle for the times we live in: it gives us a home-spun hero who allows himself to be hurt but is invincible, and an enemy who is the easiest to demonise. The film is as simplistic as its title – Us vs Them, and no prizes for guessing who will win. In a messy world, where each action can have an equal and opposite reaction, what is the point of complexity?Visit Site for more

On the whole, BABY is one of the finest films ever made in the history of Indian cinema. Not only because of its excellent cinematic credentials but also because of the balanced 'Thought' behind the film. Neeraj Pandey once again proves that he's a genius. This time he proves, it's possible to better Perfection. We say, hey baby, don't think, just go for BABY. Cinema at its very best!Visit Site for more

The film works on many levels; effective lines, some laced with dead-pan humour (written by Neeraj Pandey), the break-neck pace, near-perfect casting and minimal melodrama. Akshay Kumar scores with his understated performance and a body language that's a perfect fit for an 'emotionless' cop with a single minded focus. Two minor complaints. Wish they had gone easy on the background score. Also, a glaring loophole involving a laptop belonging to a terrorist. Please watch this movie.Visit Site for more

It’s an out an out Neeraj Pandey film. Baby hands down comes out as of the best films when it comes to mixing a subject like terrorism. It is like an Indian version of Body Of Lies.Baby is a definite watch for anyone who likes action thrillers. With an edge of the seat course of story, it is a treat with its dialogues too.Visit Site for more
