The film coasts along smoothly for the most part of its 90-minute running time, except for the flabby, repetitive middle portion in which Dulal and Ruma engage in profound conversations each time they meet. Slickly shot, capturing a real, lived-in feel of the city, this is a charming little indie that manages to say something important, while never forgetting to make you laugh. I'm going with three out of five for Sulemani Keeda. Give it a chance.Visit Site for more

Sulemani Keeda gives us a couple of struggling script-writers that make us smile. But the film takes the “slacker” part of its title (slacker comedy) a bit too seriously: these kids are all right, but their journey is not very new, and their script is, yes, slack. A little more fun would have put a little more, much-needed spring into Sulemani Keeda, which apparently loosely translates as “pain in the rear”. The title has its tongue firmly in the cheek; the film not as much.Visit Site for more

The first half is entertaining because it is so different and also because of the humour. But the second half becomes a bit boring. In fact, it wouldn’t be incorrect to say that the film loses steam after interval. On the whole, Sulemani Keeda is an entertaining fare in parts and is meant for a very thin section of the audience. It is different and will appeal to youngsters looking for different cinema but its commercial prospects are, of course, weak.Visit Site for more

Sulemani Keeda -- which is slang for pain in the rear (as one of Mainak's crude writings explain in the film) -- is slacker comedy at its best. The film will obviously find a loyal audience in the urban youth who, upon finding no respite in television, have turned to the internet for some Hinglish entertainment they can connect with. Finally an unpretentious indie, Sulemani Keeda, simply put, is by the filmis, of the filmis, and for everyone.Visit Site for more

Sulemani Keeda is a buddy comedy that evokes the original Chashme Buddoor, dudes sharing dreams, desires and the rent. The film rises in straight scenes focusing on pretentious Gonzo and the pitiable writers. It wobbles elsewhere, with crudities that don't amuse, with stopovers at Gonzo's farmhouse, inhabited by the censor board chief and his towel-clad date. This meandering is a pity for at times, the story captures that real-life air hanging between young people, talking of sun-signs and sex, failures and success.Visit Site for more

We've lately seen so many shiny self-referential movies about movies, but none as self-aware and poker-faced as this charming little effort. If you're of the opinion that Luck By Chance is the definitive B-town film of our times, chances are you will appreciate this appropriately lowbudgeted, homegrown writer rendition.Visit Site for more

Sulemani Keeda is a perfect example of a well-made, low-budget independent film. It's engaging, entertaining and witty. Watch it, you won't be disappointed.Similarly, the whole drama surrounding the 'new wave Indian cinema' and how it gets flushed down the gutter in absence of a proper outlet has been captured well. The fuss about making a 'different' and 'classical' film is the essence of Gonzo Kapoor's character. Karan Mirchandani has got his hands on right strings. He is simple, subtle and understandable.Visit Site for more

One regret, though. There is this one totally crazy, absolutely wonderful scene about a cat accidentally sniffing coke and dunking itself in the fish bowl. Wish there were more of those. For a story that is not really novel, this movie would have been much more exciting with a wee bit more confidence and craziness. Nevertheless, it's definitely worth one watch for a good laugh.Visit Site for more
