 It doesn’t matter if you are or aren’t a fan of Disney princesses or the classic fairy-tales. Book your tickets for this musical in IMAX 3D now, as Bill Condon’s recreation is delectably mesmerising and magical. What essentially works for ‘Beauty and the Beast’ is its relevance. It stands out because no matter how old the tale, it holds significance especially today, when smart phones and selfies have turned us all into beauty loving beasts.

 Directed by Bill Condon (Mr Holmes, Kinsey) Beauty and the Beast brings back everything you loved about the 1991 film and adds a layer of live action beating heart. This is clearly a soft reboot of in a way, intended to create a new generation of fans of the story. Disney has figured out a way to both pander to the nostalgic audiences and reel in newcomers and let them discover why these films became classics in the first place.

 Tale as old as time, true as it can be. You know the song, you know the rest. The live-action remake of Disney’s 1991 animated classic is a fulsome ode to its predecessor, lush in its design, joyous in its execution, solemn in its acting, and soulful in its premise. But is it necessary is the question. The answer: maybe not.

 Beauty and the Beast has always had a special place in my heart. No, not because I watched it as a girl; I watched it as a full grown woman for the first time. The music and the idea of falling in love with a human, and not his looks, always seemed like the kind of fairytale I didn’t want to find faults with. And years later, how many faults did I find this time?

 Not much of the original story has been changed, and while that guarantees that the film will remain a classic, it might leave the more dubious thought if it was worth it.As Beauty And The Beast ends, it leaves me with a satisfied feeling in my stomach, one that you get after finishing a remarkable movie or book.A cinematic experience like this one doesn't come by too often.
