Kill Dil Hindi Movie Review

KILL DIL is a film which clearly lacks the 'YRF' style. With this film, director Shaad Ali has terribly failed to recreate the same magic which he had earlier exhibited in films like SAATHIYA and BUNTY AUR BABLI.While the film struggles to establish itself within the first half, the second half not just loses its pace, but also the direction in which the film is heading towards. On the whole, KILL DIL is a film, which could have been worth watching, had it been handled and directed properly. This film's definitely worth a miss.

Shaad Ali's Kill Dil is inspired by countless Hollywood movies that showcase the protagonists romancing the gun. There is enough pizzazz to divert you from the cliched plot. It is certainly a step up from Shaad's last disastrous outing, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom (2007). And what makes this film watchable is the effortless chemistry between Ranveer and Ali.

Kill Dil has random songs, birdbrained logic and a romance that’s about as exciting as toothpaste. Seriously, even the on-going season of Bigg Boss has more meat than this half-cooked turkey of a script. It’s as though Shaad discovered somebody’s cell phone, read all 20 SMS jokes (the kind that led to the invention of technology like mute and block) and decided to make a no-holds barred dumb movie out of it.

A stylishly shot and neatly packaged action caper, Kill Dil could have been a killer film. It isn't. It simply doesn't have enough soul and substance to be able to go all the way to the finish line with its grand design in one piece. Watch Kill Dil if you have plenty of time to kill. It is unlikely to deliver much joy to your dil, though. .

I have just got done with ‘Kill Dil’, and my heart is still in a state of arrest: how can you make a film with a bunch of actors who have proved they are capable of carrying a scene, and above all Govinda, which is such a dud? This isn't one of those films that slides after a promising start. This begins badly, plods away the way it began, and ends worse.Dear Yashraj, are you serious

The first half of the film is very entertaining but post interval it's a bit slow. The end could have been much better but looks like it was all wrapped up in a rush. Even after all the little flaws Kill Dil is a good watch! Two hours of pure entertainment.

Kill Dil won’t make you cringe for sure, but the film suffers from mistaken identity and that remains its perennial problem. There are two many songs in the film that dilutes the central drama. The camaraderie works, the romance does too, but what doesn’t work is the film’s story. The botched up climax and the abrupt, muddled ending killed the little goodness that was there in the film. Kill Dil‘s ending just made me want to yell, ‘Kill Me!’ The film is such a waste of a fine caste and what had the potential of being a good film.

But what sets Kill Dil apart is the endearing performance by Ranveer Singh. Singh may have had the best lines, but actor Ali Zafar as Tutu complements him well as his partner in crime. Kill Dil doesn’t offer any riveting twists, but you don’t feel like putting a bullet to your head at the end of it either. Watch it if you love Singh and his nervous energy.
