22 Jump Street Movie Review

22 Jump Street is one of the better playful satires on the buddy cop sub-genre to be made in contemporary times. This film doesn't take itself seriously at all and that's a good thing because if it did, it would be abysmal. Instead, you're laughing with them and you're in on all the jokes. What's interesting is that directors Lord and Miller never lose sight about what they're serving up their audience - a simple and enjoyable comedy based on an old TV show (*21 Jump Street* that ran from 1987 to 1991). Here, all the veiled jokes as well as the blatant gags (Hill and Michael Bacall co-write) might even warrant a second viewing. Go for a load of laughs and stay for the end credits.

22 Jump Street could have been shorter and better written. However, it isn't exactly bad the way it is. For those of you who are between the ages of 16 and 25, 22 Jump Street is probably as awesome as HFS and WHYPHY (fictional drugs mentioned in the movie) taken together. However, it might be a tad tiresome if you aren't either young or young at heart.Tatum and Hill's comic timing manages to keep you entertained despite all the film’s flaws. 22 Jump Street might fall slightly short of being as awesome as 21 Jump Street but it will surely leave you begging for more. PS: Stick around for the titles. You'll thank me later.

Both the actors, Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are back in their characters, picking up just from the spot they had left it at in the prequel and well, that's amazing. It contributes immensely to this film's continuity. Their chemistry has naturally become much better with time and experience. I must also mention Ice Cube who is dangerous and funny, he does the job very well.Don't walk out without watching the end credits. A lot of imagination has gone into it and it's worth staying back for.22 Jump Street is worth every penny spent!

This is a funny film where the humor is defined not by what gets the most obvious laughs, but by the tongue-in-cheek wit that runs rampant. This isn’t a serious movie. You are encouraged to laugh at the way the movie industry takes itself so seriously. Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill make a fantastic team of opposites. This notion is played with and then turned on its head. Watch for when it happens. Ice Cube is alright. He makes all the right noises. But hey, it is the Tatum-Hill duo you must watch out for. You will have a silly grin on your face and the laughs will be hearty.

Lord and Miller are seemingly unstoppable because 22 Jump Street combines all the goodies from their previous work while adding a few new ones to make one entertaining ball of mayhem. Just like in the first movie, Schmidt and Jenko have one simple mission: go undercover in order to infiltrate the drug dealers and find the suppliers. With the issue of a ‘plot’ quickly out of the way, 22 Jump Street storms head-on into becoming the most bromantic movie we’ve seen.
