Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit Movie  Review

Ratings:3/5 Review By: Renuka Vyvahare Site:Times of India (TOI)
While the previous films in the series were adapted from Clancy's best-selling novels, Shadow Recruit is a reboot, which works as a prequel to the original Jack Ryan stories. While the film is certainly not yawn-inducing and keeps the suspense level high, it fails to create its own identity. In spite of being fast-paced and sleek in terms of stunts, it looks like a generic action thriller, which seems to be made to keep the franchise going. For avid fans of espionage thrillers, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit is modestly watchable. For the rest, wait for something different.

The strongest character of any spy-related film is the antagonist. Unfortunately, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit 's bad guy, Viktor Cherevin (Kenneth Branagh) is the most boring, one-dimensional villain to hit the screen. While not a complete waste of time, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit could have used a solid script and some more patient direction before waltzing into a theatre near you.

Based on the popular character created by late author Tom Clancy, ‘Jack Ryan’ goes to Russia in the fifth edition of the franchise There is action. There is drama. The right amount of speed. And Keira Knightley. Boys, what else do you need for a perfect weekend movie plan. Ladies, don’t be disappointed. There’s Chris Pine to keep you engaged. Also a tribute to late author, Tom Clancy.
