The Iceman Movie Review
Ratings:3/5 Review By: Renuka Vyavahare Site:Times Of India (TOI)
The film gives a disturbing account of Kuklinski's life from being a porn distributor to becoming one of the most diabolical contract killers in American history. The Iceman is grim, dark and gritty. A certain sense of paranoia engulfs the proceedings, which helps build the psychological tension. Vromen manages to capture the period setting required. The background score is unsettling and does complete justice to the film's creepy theme. However, it fails to dramatise the character in order to evoke an audience reaction, which is what is usually expected from crime thrillers.

The Iceman is a biopic about a famed hitman who killed over a 100 people, yet continued to love and support his own family. Based on the life of Richard Kuklinski, the film has Michael Shannon playing the lead role. It isn't your regular thriller, but a story that takes a while to weave its web of intrigue and suspense around you.The Iceman could have been so much more. But it limits itself and instead of engaging you ends up offering facts and figures. Watch it for Shannon's sincere performance and some thrilling moments.

The Iceman is a decently- executed film and unless you know the intricate details of Richard Kuklinski’s life, the movie looks good and solid. Though a lot of minute details have been left out by Ariel Vromen, the movie is quite intense and gritty. The film is quite intense and gritty with each character doing justice to his/her role. The script could have been much stronger and the direction could have been a lot better. For whatever loose ends that were there, Michael Shannon made up for it. Though this may be one of those typical “gangster” movies with a decent script and direction, what made it worth the watch was the acting. Michael Shannon’s riveting performance is something you should not miss.
