'Lafangey Parindey' isn't a particularly bad film; it's just not a good film either. It's the kind of film that keeps you waiting for something to happen, but nothing ever does. There's no element of surprise or unpredictability in its screenplay; and as a result even though it's only two hours long, you find yourself exhausted by the time the lights come back on.'Lafangey Parindey' is the kind of film that doesn't stay in your head much after you've left the cinema. And you should be happy for that.I'm going with two out of five for director Pradeep Sarkar's 'Lafangey Parindey'. It's a pointless, boring film. Watch it if you have 200 bucks to waste!Visit Site for More

It's a familiar world of bhais, boxers and bustee wallahs which Mumbai cinema has created and re-created, time and again that stares at you in Lafangey Parindey. And it's this familiarity of character and script that actually works against Pradeep Sarkar's third love story. There is an overriding sense of deja vu that overcomes you as you watch the cliche-ridden script unfold in a predictable fashion, where the rough-edged gangster is involuntarily drawn towards his sweet yet strong victim. And yet, it isn't easy to write off the film completely. So what works in its favour? Mostly, it's the performances that lift the film from the mediocrity of its script.A little more verve however would have gone a long way in energising the show.Visit Site for More

.LAFANGEY PARINDEY starts with gusto! Also, it moves on a singular path, without diversifying into unwanted sub-plots and superfluous characters. In fact, the story takes off at the commencement of the film itself and how Neil and Deepika's lives get intertwined makes for interesting viewing. The film has some truly engaging moments and most of them are in its first hour.On the flipside, the film has a major flaw and that dilutes the impact to an extent: Casting Neil Nitin Mukesh as a tapori. Blemishes? Oh yes! The love story is conventional and dreary. On the whole, LAFANGEY PARINDEY may be predictable, but is engaging and entertaining nonetheless. A decent watch!Visit Site for More

This indispensible rawness that defines this lot is missing from Neil Nitin Mukesh's One Shot Nandu in Pradeep Sarkar's latest offering, Lafangey Parindey. It opens with an in-your-face voiceover, akin to Kaminey but reveals in the first few minutes itself that it's never going to wear the intricacy of Striker or emotionality of Mashaal. Sarkar's departure from kerchief capers is a sleekly-packaged potboiler with abundant implausibility that wowed us in the 1980s but commands very little respect today.Ultimately Lafangey Parindey, like its attention-grabbing title, is unapologetically superficial with a brief attention span. It doesn't dwell too long on the possible complications or questions that may arise in its protagonist's lives and conveniently wiggles out of/wraps up any uneasy development.Guess the makers can't blame us for reserving similar indifference towards the movie..Visit Site for More

For the most part, Lafangey Parindey trundles along at a fair clip, although it never turns into anything more than a predictable ride. On the way, there is much bump and grind, and flying fists and bloodied noses too. But behind it all is a wholesome human tale that celebrates the doggedness of those that are down and but not out.The story of two underdogs from the wrong side of the urban divide fighting tooth and nail for their place in the sun may not be strikingly original. It might not be particularly rousing either. But Lafangey Parindey has enough energy going to hold the interest of the audience. Lafangey Parindey soars just high enough to stand a fair chance of garnering mass applause.Visit Site for More

The beauty of the film lies in its simplicity. Sarkar does not get preachy or patronizing in his storytelling in spite of his story being predictable. The portrayal of Mumbai life including the taporigiri showed is not over-the-top. The clothes and even the names of the characters fit the setting. Second half is a bit of a drag but even then the film never loses its grip. High on emotions, the film is more of a drama but comedy and romance too have their prominence in the script. Lafangey Parindey is a human tale of risk and loss, and emotional victories. It is a tribute to the indomitable spirit of Mumbai. Watch it for its earnest performances, real characters and sheer simplicity.Visit Site for More

Visit Site for MoreMore yelps. Truly, Pradeep Sarkar’s third film Lafangey Parindey produced by Aditya Chopra would unsettle even the most patient cobra. Its two-hours running length seems like 20. Indeed you visibly age, ruminating about whatever happened to the director who was at least style-savvy in Parineeta, Laaga Chunari mein Daag.. Yaargh, or whatever?
Worse, the result is about as original as half a dozen xerox copies from diverse sources. The end is the best part of the movie, because it actually ends. Whatever it cannot resolve, it cavaliery dismisses.

Gopi Puthran’s story had the germs of a hit but his screenplay leaves a lot to be desired. For one, a film in which the main protagonist is blind had to be high on emotions, but Pinky seems to be so confident and unperturbed even after she loses her eyesight that the audience doesn’t feel enough sympathy for her. All in all, the film is low on sentiments, doesn’t strike a chord in the audience’s hearts and leaves them unaffected for the most part.On the whole, Lafangey Parindey doesn’t connect too well with the viewer. Great music and strong emotions could’ve done the trick.

Ratings:2.5/5 Reviewer:Pankaj Sabnani Site:GlamshamLAFANGEY PARINDEY kicks-off promisingly with a refreshing first half. However, drags and disappoints in the second half. Moving on, some uproarious moments keep you entertained. On the flip side, the dance training sessions in the second half, become banal after a while..LAFANGEY PARINDEY has some amazing performances but is marred by a feeble script. For the 'records' this LP doesn't seem to be a long playing one.Visit Site for More

Watching Lafangey Parindey requires you to stop questioning what’s happening on screen after a point. But then, our films are a lot more enjoyable when seen with some suspension of disbelief. Especially, when they are packaged as well as this film is.After a long time, you see a film that has drama, comedy, action, romance, emotions and songs, and that makes Lafangey Parindey a complete package – paisa vasool, if you may. And such a film comes with its drawbacks. Lafangey Parindey is more conventional than groundbreaking, but highly watchable nonetheless.Visit Site for More
