Pizza 3D Hindi Movie Reviews
Ratings:1/5 Review By: Rajeev Masand Site:CNN IBN (IBNlive)
Both thrills and logic are in short supply in 'Pizza', remake of the 2012 Tamil super-hit about a timid pizza delivery boy and the repercussions of his supposed brush with the supernatural. The fault lies not in the fact that director Akshay Akkineni employs all the usual horror movie tropes to scare you, but in his singularly unimaginative and lazy treatment of the film's themes.Visit Site for more

PIZZA, the remake of the Tamil supernatural thriller PIZZA [2012], gets it right on some counts. If you haven't watched the original or are clueless about the plotline, chances are you may be sucked in its world, but the loose ends -- despite an unforeseen twist towards the closing stages -- cannot be ignored. In times when you are bombarded with hackneyed plots, Pizza is refreshingly real. While the build-up will leave you sweating and gasping for breath, the unfolding of events manages to sustain the tension created. By infusing multiple twists and turns in the story, the director keeps you guessing till the end and that's the beauty of the film. The faint-hearted can stay away for the film does get immensely eerie. The rest should watch it for it's one of the most unpredictable thrillers you will see in a long time.Visit Site for more

But the most striking feature of Pizza, or its star topping, if you will, is the thriller it shapes up as towards the end. It's all the more exciting considering the fledgling pace at which the film initially kicks off, taking its own sweet time to arrive to the point. If you're a fan of the genre and have lamented the sorry state Hindi horror films have been in, give this one a chance. It's a spook-fest that might just instill hope for better things to come.Visit Site for more

What I liked about the film is its refusal to weigh anything down with false portent. The horror bits are efficiently done even though my 3D glasses didn’t give me anything extra . An entire portion in the second-half delivers a mild shiver a minute, but at no point did I feel like closing my eyes ( my index of how scary the film is ), and there were some points where a laugh escaped me : those bits were unwittingly funny.‘Pizza’ will give you some nice chills, and a little twist in the end, which is not as a surprise as it should have been. While we wait for the sequel, try catching the Tamil original ( it’s out with subtitles), for a slice of pizza with extra cheese.Visit Site for more

The writers suffer from what to do next syndrome. Unable to give the story a conclusive end, they seem to have panicked at the idea of giving the plot a logical end. While the first half has some engaging scenes and spooky scenes the second half really doesn't do much to raise any scares. With very limited scary moments, this Pizza tastes a bit bland, we wish there was more topping to give it a flavor.Visit Site for more

UTV Spotboy did not go into a publicity blitz for Akshay Akkineni's directorial debut Pizza 3D. Interestingly, the movie is a decent one, despite lack of star faces and promotions. A well-executed plot and effortless performance by Akshay Oberoi make this horror flick worth a one-time watch. The film manages to scare audiences with its 3D technique and its surprise element. However, other than those few moments, the story is predictable.Watch it if you love scary movies that come with a few laughs.Visit Site for more

Pizza 3D is definitely not a memorable watch. Right on your face horror with too many borrowed thrills, it is only in remote parts that the film shows inspired work. The innovative-ness of the climax came as a pleasant surprise and as I was beginning to believe that Pizza attempts something new and doesn’t float in mediocrity, the last scene slashed my hopes. Missing this film won’t be the worst thing after all.Visit Site for more

Pizza 3D Although South Indian remakes are off lost in translation, this Bollywood version is faithful to the original, without compromising on the plot. While the routines might be ridiculed by ardent followers of this genre for being borrowed and unimaginative, it’s ample to scare the fainthearted (like me).‘Pizza’ manages to revive a genre that was long forgotten in Bollywood, and one that was unfairly reduced to soppy musical romances by the Bhatt brothers. Hopefully, Akkineni will manage to wipe away the damage.Visit Site for more
