 Overall, Nil Battey Sannata throws light not only the endearing mother-daughter relationship but also subtly explores issues like poverty and education. Last year, we had Dum Laga Ke Haisha, a feelgood film which left a lasting impression on everyone. For me, this year it is Nil Battey Sannata. Watch this film with your mother. The film is truly a fitting tribute to mothers and their unconditional, selfless love.

 Nil Battey Sannata is a rare film, the kind that will bring tears to your eyes but leave a smile on your face. It is gratifying to watch something unpretentious in times when masala films are stooping to entertain. Director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari makes you buy into Chanda's innocent world, where happiness is found over relishing a plate of Chow Mein while watching a horror film.

 Ashwini Iyer Tiwari’s debut feature, Nil Battey is a powerful and honest work, completely shorn of the kind of pretension one sees in a large number of Bollywood movies. It is not just a touching story of a mother and her daughter but also a great chapter on the importance of education. It tells us that a parent’s limitations need not stop his/her child too.

 Nil Battey Sannata is easy to recommend. It is light-hearted, easy on the eyes and mind, and full of heart. This film says a great deal about a girl-child's struggles, a mother's hopes and the ways of the education system. But, in the end, Nil Battey Sannata is also a good old story about life and its vicissitudes.

 Nil Battey Sannata is an extremely realistic, straight from the heart film. This poignant story appeals to you instantly and is a perfect film to promote girl-education.A preachy end, slightly puts you back into the seat from this otherwise realistic film. Surely watch! This film is a beautiful mother-daughter story that will no matter what be relatable to everyone from their growing up years. Nil Battey Sannata Story:  

Apu is a class 10th student and is giving up on studies, because she knows her mother will not be able to provide for her higher studies. Her mother tries hard and even enrolled her for maths tuition but Apu thinks only children of rich parents become doctors or engineers and believes she'll end up being a maid too like her mother. But one day her mother gets a chance to continue her Education.
