The Hunger Games 2: Catching Fire Movie Review
If you like 'grim dystopian sci-fi films', Catching Fire is a spectacular 'edge-of-the-seat' thriller, which is unnerving, emotionally intense and immensely engaging. The film is strangely unsettling and uplifting at the same time. Spine-chilling cinematography evokes that much required eerie feeling throughout. Dramatic costumes are another highlight. The film makes our hopelessness pit against our own indomitable spirit of survival. Who wins? Note: You may not like this film, if you don't like sci- fi action movies.Visit Site for more

Every frame is slick, though not as dark as that of the first film despite the characters dealing with extreme trauma in this one. Simon Beaufoy and Michael Ardnt adapt the novel to the big screen quite well but the film seems to drag a bit. Elaborate sets and realistic effects sometimes overshadow the actors themselves; and even though the actors do a fine job, it is not always enough for a film of this kind of intensity. Catching Fire holds your attention despite its two and a half hour runtime. One big reason why it works and stands apart from the rest of the big franchises of the year is that it spends almost an hour on character development, and tries decently hard to avoid the cliches. The other contestants have some personality this time. It’s great that the film works as pure sci fi, and as a teen centric escapist entertainment, and as a blokbuster and as fodder for the Jlaw GIF lovers.Visit Site for more

The first film though also well done, was a little rough around the edges, still introducing all the elements of the series. The second instalment, however, smoothens out all the edges and manages to effortlessly capture the beauty and character of the first film while also engaging the audience and taking the story further. All in all, the movie works because all the elements blend together well. In a fantasy film, the best thing that can happen is not to lose track of the plot in the midst of overwhelming action sequences and over the top effects. And The Hunger Games - Catching Fire, does just that, it stays true to the story. Those who've read the books will not be disappointed, and those who haven't will be pleasantly entertained just the same.Visit Site for more

Catching Fire is a rare gem that defies the norms of a blockbuster and yet manages to entertain as thoroughly as any superhero movie. Except Katniss is not a superhero – she’s just you, or me; a woman trying to survive and save those she loves from a world that’s hell bent on bringing them to their knees.
