Salma Hayek in her barest essentials, oozing tough-girl sexuality? Check. Salma Hayek in the skimpiest of clothes and with all guns blazing while mowing down bad guys by the truckload? Yes indeed. But while the blood, gore and body count (not to mention some typical action movie style one-liners) goes through the roof here, the action fest does get a bit repetitive and monotonous after a point. On the plus side, the action scenes are slick and stylish. But as mentioned earlier, too much of it does weigh a bit heavily on you. But all said and done, this is Salma Hayek channeling her inner GI Jane. It could have been way more ambitions though.

The film has nothing going for it except Salma's bravado. She lives Everly. Take her out of the equation and all this film has is a quickly rising body count and a brief acquaintance with the other characters in this film. Akie Kotabe as 'The Dead Man' is creepy enough to catch your attention but doesn't last too long.An action flick that's all noise and no substance, they might be firing for all they're worth, but all they're shooting are blanks.

In this film Salma Hayek stars as the titular character trapped in a hotel room, and waves of people who want to kill her begin making their way towards her room. Everly then cleverly uses makeshift weapons, real ammunition and some hand-to-hand combat to make it out alive. To make things more emotionally manipulative, Everly is a prostitute whose boss Taiko (Hiroyuki Watanabe) condemns her to doom in said hotel room when he finds out that she has been working with the police to rat him out.
